About US
Hello!
Welcome to Down Home Equine & Canine Services. We are a small farm in Upstate New York that raises and trains horses. We are also a hobby breeder of Standard Poodles, Bernedoodles and mini Aussiedoodles. We currently have two female standard poodles, Jackie Mends My Broken Heart and Mayla Mrs Clause B Missed So Much. We have also added one Female Merle Bernedoodle named Anushka (We call her Sushi ), and a mini Australian Shepherd Male named Ranch to the family.
We bought Jackie in December 2019 after Jack; our wonderful and sweet poodle we had for 20 years, passed away. Jackie does indeed mend our broken hearts. Our other dogs soon followed, and now we have a full nest of four amazing dog friends!!
Our dogs are our friends and companions and we would like them to go to homes that will care for them the way we do!
Our puppies come from American Kennel Club registered litters, and are already socialized when they arrive to you. They are also started on pee pads when they are two weeks old.
Poodles are exceptionally smart, and emotionally intelligent dogs. They are usually friendly to other dogs and cats, and thrive in stimulated environments where they can exercise their athletic bodies and intellect. They make wonderful companions and are ideal dogs for training. They are also the most hypoallergenic of all the coated breeds, and shed very little. They are a well mannered and gentle indoor dog, and will give as much love as they are given.

There is always lots to do around the farm, but there is also lots of time to just lay around and enjoy the wonders of nature. So much to be grateful for!
